Belly up to the bar for sunset shrimp specials at this dive bar on the Intercoastal waterway on the Atlantic side of Florida. Or, just wander in for an ice cold beer on their casual open-air deck. Come on, where else can you order a salad which is really a plate of nachos? Spring Break is not complete without a visit to Shrimper’s Grill & Raw Bar.
Barber’s Q, Napa Valley CA
French Laundry? Auberge du Soleil? Not tonight.
Take me to Q for some fried chicken please! Barber’s Q is a hidden gem at the base of Napa Valley. The perfect destination after a day of wine-tasting, or a great daytrip from San Franciso too. Don’t forget to order some sides, you’ll love the homemade biscuits with pepper jelly.

Nachos at AT&T Park, San Francisco CA
A night game in San Francisco means bundle up! Or snuggle-up to some ballpark nachos to keep warm. Mmmmm, nothing says Go Cubbies like a tray of chips smothered in velveta.
Cafe Ciampini, Rome Italy
Piazza Trinita Dei Monti
Ahhhh, Roma! Order a slice of pizza, and receive a giant panini — molto buono! You’ll be sipping so much wine that you won’t even notice the difference — cin cin!
Nachos at Pontefract Castle, Marylebone, London UK
Fancy a pint?
How bout some nachos, cheeseburger & fries with that ale? Well done. You don’t have to wander far to find a great pub in London, but Pontefract Castle tops my list for bar nibbles! Skip their famous Pork Scratchins and go straight for the nachos…don’t mind that they serve them in a small bowl, bollocks!
Nachos at Pete’s Tavern, San Francisco CA
The closer you get to the ballpark, the messier the nachos — bring on the chili, these game-watches can be long for a social-sportsfan! Another favorite at Pete’s is the mini-corndogs, classic choice. If you are feeling touristy, head out to Haight-Ashbury for nachos at Askew Grill…they’re not on the menu, just ask for a secret order of the Baked Chicken Nachos.
Nachos at Leilani’s on the Beach, Maui
Second attempt at nachos in Maui was much more successful than the first. If you’re in Ka’anapali, stop by Whaler’s Village and try the nachos at Leilani’s on the Beach.

Nachos at Mai Tai, Lahaina, Maui
There’s nothing like a Maui sunset, a fruity drink, and a plate of nachos. Unless, of course, the nachos are made with won tons. Yuck! It’s just not the same without the tortilla chips. If you’re at Mai Tai in Lahaina, take a pass on the nachos. They’re nothing like the good stuff at home.
HOWEVER The fruity drinks rock.
Ode to a Cheeseburger
Is it so wrong to love cheeseburgers? All the food groups come together in a celebration of backyard barbecues and greasy diners. What’s not to love? Who cares about steak! Give me a cheeseburger every time.
And yes, I’ll take fries with that.
Keep it Simple
There’s no need to get fancy when you’re having friends over for a drink and some munchies. How about some fruit? It pairs well with beer, and it’s easy to accessorize.
