Nacho Average Birthday

Did you know that Mermaids love Nachos too? Sometimes my Nacho research takes me to great depths, and this Halloween the Blue Moon guided me on shore to try the Nachos at a new restaurant in Venice, CA called Nueva. It’s a fun, relaxed, Covid-friendly outdoor Cantina with a modern approach to classic dishes from Mexico, from Chefs Vartan Abgaryan and Mesraim Llanez. Definitely add the Chicken Tinga and let me know how you like their special nacho topping: Chickpeas!

4th of July Nachos

Nacho Average Sheet Pan Nachos

Fourth of July food for the Family should always include Nachos! This star spangled batch was a 10-minute meal made with leftover meat and veggies and topped off with Grandma Barbara’s famous guacamole. We paired it with carne asada tacos and some ice cold Leiny’s Summer Shandy. We used some festive blue corn chips that crisped up nicely — don’t forget the foil base for easy cleanup.

Vote for Nachos

Something that all parties can agree on! Election Day is the perfect time for a strong foundation of Blue corn tortilla chips to celebrate Midterms 2018. Pair with some Peach salsa as you watch the results roll in. Happy National Nacho Day!

It’s National Nachos Day 2014

Let’s all raise a chip and toast this important Holiday!

Cheers to Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya, the Nacho legend who started it all in 1940s Mexico — muchas gracias! This is the 1 day each year where we can eat Nachos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy this special day with your friends & family.

Nachos at Guanabanas, Jupiter FL

Queso Fundido anyone?!

I usually order the fully loaded Nachos at Guanabanas, but was convinced to try something new on National Sibling Day…a bowl of fried cheese with these 3 amigos, que bueno! Cheers to all the Brothers & Sisters out there!

Cochinita Pibil Nachos, Santa Monica CA

I have located the best Nachos in LA. You must stop by Tinga on Wilshire and see for yourself. I thought that the Hawaiians held the title for Pig Nachos, but Chef Lester has taken the lead on this Coast. His homemade tortillas are also in high demand, he makes over 3000 a week! Be sure to ask Michael for a rosemary jalapeño Margarita, the perfect pairing.

Caribbean Nachos, Turks & Caicos

Iguana some Nachos?

Then book a trip to Turks and Caicos, where there are more iguanas than people on the Islands. You will not find better Island salsa anywhere — sweet mango, pineapple, and Caribbean spices pack more punch than Provo’s famous Rum Punch! Add fried Iguana, jerk chicken, or their other local favorite Conch. Wash it all down with a Turk’s Head island lager. Island Nachos taste the best at Sunset — stop by the roof deck at Somewhere, or the Ocean side fire pits at The Veranda.
